Classic defeated – Nokian KrP and SPV reach Finnish Cup final

Classic were defeated for the first time this season as Nokian KrP beat them 8-6 in tonight’s Finnish Cup semi-final. In F-liiga’ Classic have won all their 18 games.

In the final, Nokian KrP will take on SPV who won 9-6 against Westend Indians in the other semi-final.

Tonight, Nokian KrP went from 1-1 to 3-1 and from 3-2 to 6-2 in the beginning of the third period. Classic were able to reduce the score to 5-6 but Nico Jonaeson’s and Joona Rantala’s goals turne out too much.

Classic had won the Finnish Cup three times in a row from 2018 to and 2020 and five times in total. SPV took the Cup in 2011 and Nokian KrP are chasing their first title.

in the Espoo semi-final Westend Indians blew a 4-3 lead to a 6-9 loss in the third period with defenseman Otto Lehkosuo (2+4) setting up all six Indians goals.

In Women’s Finnish Cup it will be a final between SB-Pro and FBC Loisto.

The Cup finals will be played in Riihimäki the 20th February.
