TPS with NHL backup – start season stronger than ever

TPS Turku enters F-liiga season for women stronger than ever having signed a number of Finnish top names.

Backing their development, TPS announced Colorado Rockies NHL star Mikko Rantanen supporting their women’s team. Rantanen, who is a former TPS floorball junior himself, has his two sisters Laura and Noora playing for the team.

There was no further information about the kind of Mikko Rantanen’s support for the team or any financial details but it coincides with the team acquiring several Finnish big names. National team level players Ina Leminen and Meri-Helmi Höynälä join new head coach Aki Vilander with all three coming from this season’s finalist SB-Pro. Jenna Saario returns to Turku from Swedish KAIS Mora as U19 national Cira Virta comes from EräViikingit and Anna Marttala as well as Sini Niinikoski from TPS’ Turku rivals FBC Loisto.

"I now have the opportunity to give something back and I'm proud to do my part supporting women's elite sports", former TPS junior player Mikko Rantanen says.
