Eräviikingit to the Win, Welhot Ready for Second Round in Qualifiers

FBC Loisto was not able to secure its place in F-liiga quarter finals, as Eräviikingit won 5-3 and hence the wins are now 2-1 for Loisto.

 

FBC Loisto was in 2-1 lead in the opening period, but Taru Nordman tied the game with only 3 seconds left of the period. In the seconf period, Maura Paajanen and Natalie Sandström scored Eräviikingit into 4-2 lead. Tuulia Lahti brought hope for Loisto with scoring in power play, but Taru Nordman scored from Inka Lippojoki’s skilful pass at the end of third period hence securing the win for Eräviikingit.

 

Welhot will continue to round two in F-liiga qualifiers with 3-0 wins against Blue Fox. Welhot won the third game with clear numbers 6-1. The game was fairly even after the first round with scores 1-0, but in the second period Silva Jääskeläinen scored three times in a row and Petra Aallonen and Miia Murtorinne continued with scoring once each. Julia Storskrubb scored once in the last period for Blue Fox.

 

Jokerit is now leading their qualifying series with 2-1 wins, as they defeated Northern Stars 3-2. Northern Stars scored immediately in the beginning of the first period, but Jokerit was in charge of the next two goals. Northern Stars was able to tie the game to 2-2, but Jokerit owned the game in the final period. Louisa Sandell passed the ball to Anna Ylikojola, who was able to score behind goalie Jana Pleisch. Northern Stars did not give up easily and unsuccesfully tried to tie the game without a goalie right up to the end of the game.

 

F-liiga quarter finals continue on Wednesday with Classic – SaiPa and TPS – Koovee. In F-liiga qualifiers O2-Jyväskylä will host a game against FB Factor and Pirkat playes against SBS Wirmo.
