After two seasons with Oilers, Jani Lehtoniemi will continue his career elsewhere. Having joined the club in 2018 but having been hampered with injuries, the 24-year old forward clocked 11 games for Oilers scoring two goals. This summer, he trained with the team on a tryout deal.
“Already when agreeing on the tryout we knew Jani’s other commitments might take him elsewhere and that is what happened”, head coach Heikki Luukkonen says on Oilers’ website. “I want to thank him for his two years with us and wish him all the best for the future.”
In total, Jani Lehtoniemi has played 108 Finnish league games of which 97 for SalBa (in photo) scoring 78 goals and 43 assists.
