Super Cup trophies from Tallinn to Turku and Tampere

The first trophies of the F-liiga season 2023-24 were celebrated in Tallinn as the Super Cup 2023 was played at Kalevi Spordihall.

In women’s match, the Finnish Champion TPS continued where it left of last spring and won the match against SB-Pro from Nurmijärvi. Traditionally, the Super Cup is played between the Finnish Champion and the Finnish Cup winner, but as TPS winning both titles last season, the Cup finalist SB-Pro made its way to Super Cup.

SB-Pro had a good start to the match and for almost two sets it challenged TPS. However, in the last part of the second set TPS took the lead with 2 goals and the same pace continued in the third set. Women’s Super Cup: TPS–SB-Pro 8-4 (3-2, 3-1, 2-1)

Classic from Tampere had a fresh start to the new season as it celebrated victory from the men’s Finnish Champions, also TPS from Turku. Classic was strong throughout the match the end result being 7-2. The last time Classic won TPS was over a year ago. Men’s Cuper Cup: TPS–Classic 2-7 (0-2, 1-1, 1-4)

Henri Heinola’s last match as a referee

The Super Cup was also the final match for the referee Henri Heinola. Heinola announced the retirement last spring as the long career in Salibandyliiga and F-liiga had lasted 15 season and included 329 matches. Heinola’s career also included numerous international matches as IFF referee.
