The best F-liiga players of the month were selected by the Finnish national team coaches. Justus Kainulainen from Oilers and Miisa Turunen from SaiPa were awarded as the most valuable players in September 2023.
Kainulainen scored only in four matches in September total 12+3=15 and was most definitely the most efficient player of the month in men’s F-liiga.
– The start of the season has been great for Oilers with Kainulainen scoring on average 3 goals per match in four matches. Also, three of the them being shorthanded goals, makes it even more special says, the head coach for men’s national team Esa Jussila.
The September for Turunen was a least as great as for Kainulainen. The young talent made history as scoring in one game 1+9 which is the new record for most serves in one match. In September, Turunen scored only in four matches in total 8+16=24.
– The pace for Turunen has been quite unbelievable. She has definitely been the one most important player for SaiPa as they have had a really good season start, sums Lasse Kurronen, the head coach for women’s national team.
