F-liiga quarter finals started with a bang as Eräviikingit, who were the last team to make it to playoffs, defeated Classic, the winner of regular season, with a whopping score of 11-10. In the second game of the evening Oilers won Happee 9-3.
Eräviikingit was down with two goals in the first period, but was able to rise up to 5-3 lead in the second. After the second period, the game was already tied 6-6. The third period was eventful. Both teams were in the lead in their turn, and after 10 minutes the game was tied again at 8-8. Eräviikingit had their momentum next, as Matej Penicka, Juuso Möttönen and Oliver Sillanpää scored once each. Ville Lastikka was able to score twice for Classic after playing without the goalie, but Eräviikingit defended the win.
In Espoo, Happee was the first to score by Matti Minkkinen. However, Heikki Iiskola tied the game in the first period. In the second period, Iiskola, Markus Markkola and Justus Kainulainen quickly led Oilers to 4-1 lead. Happee was able to score in power play, but Oilers dominated with three more goals in the third period.
F-liiga quarter finals continue on Wednesday with the game Westend Indians – TPS and in F-liiga qualifiers OLS will face Koovee. In women’s series quarter finals continue with Classic – SaiPa and TPS – Koovee, where as in F-liiga qualifiers O2-Jyväskylä will play against FB Factor and Pirkat against SBS Wirmo.
