Classic is now leading SPV with 2-0 wins in the semifinals. SPV had a loud home-crowd of 1234 spectators following the tight game, but Jami Manninen scored for Classic in overtime.
Teppo Liukkonen played a strong game as SPV’s goalie, but Jami Manninen was able to shoot the ball behind him. SPV challenged the goal by calling out a foul, but after a video-review the referees called it a goal.
SPV was the first team to score in the opening period with Didrik Lillas’ goal, and Riku Hakanen grew the lead to 2-0 in the second period. However, Classic tied the game with goals from Ville Lastikka and Nico Salo. Riku Hakanen was able to score a second goal, taking SPV to the lead again, but Jami Manninen tied the game to 3-3 once more in the final period. SPV had a chance to score in a penalty shot in the final minute of the game, but Lassi Toriseva performed in Classic’s goal, taking the game to overtime.
In the F-liiga qualifiers the F-liiga teams LASB and OLS both had wins in their first qualifiers against Hawks and Karhut. In the second game, Hawks surprised LASB by winning 1-9 and hence tied the wins to 1-1. In the other qalifying pair OLS took their second win by winning Karhut 6-5 in overtime.
The games continue on Tuesday with semifinals Oilers – Westend Indians and Classic -SPV, as well as with a qualifier-game Hawks – LASB.
