Westend Indians Wins the Bronze

Westend Indians celebrates the club’s first medal after defeating SPV in Friday night’s game. Indians has made it to fourth place in the years 2018 and 2024 when Nokian KrP has taken the medal in the bronze games.

Jasper Auvinen was the first to score for Indians, but SPV’s Miika Latvala tied the game to 1-1 in the opening period. This goal remained to be the only one for SPV. In the mid-section of the game Tuomas Harjula placed the ball to the net, taking Indians to the lead. Rasmus Pasanen grew the lead and took Indians one step closer to the medal. SPV fought until the end, but playing without goalie backfired as first Samuli Junnila and later the captain Valtteri Kainulainen scored to an empty net.

In the end of the game, in addition to celebrating the bronze medals, there was an honoring for SPV legend Sami Koski, who ended his amazing career in the league-level to this game.
