Wins Even at the Finals

Classic won the first final match 8-3 and the teams faced each other for the second time on Tuesday 29.4. Oilers was better with goals 8-5 at their home-game and hence the wins are now 1-1 in the final series. Oilers took advantage of the mistakes that Classic made in the second game.

Classic was in the lead 2-1 after 1 st period, but Markus Salmi tied the game in the second. Aaro Astala scored within the same minute, while the goal was out of place. However, the referees accepted the goal after a video review. Otto Kilpi tied the game after another review from video, but this joy was shortly lived. Alpo Laitila’s assist mistakenly reached Markus Markkola, who coolly shot Oilers to the lead. There was also a third video review in the second period concerning a physical contact in the game, but without consequenses.

Oilers grew their lead in the beginning of the third period, as first Justus Kainulainen and soon after Markus Salmi made it to 6-3. This was a third goal for Salmi in the game. Konsta Tykkyläinen brought Classic closer with his goal, but Aaro Astala soon made the difference to two goals again. The last goals were seen after Classic took the goalie Lassi Toriseva off the court. Tiitus Salokangas scored for Classic once more, but Aaro Astala was the last player to score with elegantly lifting the ball over Jami Manninen and into an empty net.

Classic and Oilers will play the third final on first of May at 16:00 in Lempäälä. First team to win four games will be the Finnish Champion.
