Oskar Sillanpää replaced Lassi Toriseva in Classic’s goal and played a huge game, securing a 4-3 win for Classic in their third semifinal game against SPV. Classic is now leading the semifinals 3-0. In the other semifinal pairing Oilers was down three goals against Indians, but was eventually able to win the game 5-4 in overtime.
Oskar Sillanpää, who has not played this season, was called to help as neither Lassi Toriseva or Otso Auvinen were playing. Sillanpää made 17 saves, when Teppo Liukkonen on the other goal had 7 saves. Classic was down a number of players, as they were missing Ville Lastikka, Alpo Laitila, Eetu Sikkinen, Janne Lamminen and Ville Hietaranta in addition to Toriseva and Auvinen.
There were only two goals in the first two periods, as Eemeli Salin scored for Classic and Riku Hakanen tied the game. However, a lot went down in the final period. Aaro Helin, Konsta Heikkilä and Oskari Heikkilä took Classic to 4-1 lead, but SPV was not done. Sami Koski scored in power play and made an assist to Juuso Keskinen when playing with 6 against 5, bringing the score to 4-3. However, there was not enough time for SPV to tie the game again.
Westend Indians had a strong first period in Espoo, as they set the game to 3-0 with goals from Jasper Auvinen, Jere Niemelä and Leevi Auranen. However, Oilers set the pace in the second period, when Jesperi Lindfors, Joona Larten and Antti Suomela tied the game to 3-3. Samuli Junnila took Indians to the lead on powerplay in the middle of third period, but Oilers took advantage of their power play as well, tying the game yet again. Oilers won in overtime, as Aaro Astala shot the ball behind Joonas Kaltiainen, after a great pass from Justus Kainulainen.
In F-liiga qualifiers LASB had lost their previous game to Hawks 9-1, but got their game together and won Tuesday’s game 4-2. LASB is now leading the qualifiers with wins 2-1. Valtteri Ryytty, Atte Raappana and Peetu Rantala scored the winning goals in the first period.
SPV and Classic, as well as LASB and Hawks, will play their fourth games on Thursday.
