Classic knock out TPS in the first period

Classic seem to be in a class of their own in F-liiga for men as they demolished TPS 10-2 in their opponents’ home rink on Friday.

Tonight, Classic knocked TPS out already in the first period with Albert Koskinen and Eemeli Salin scoring twice and Sami Johansson having one. Johansson started the second period by making it 0-6 and he was the man of the match with a hat trick topped with two assists. In the latest Finnish league finals, it was no other than TPS who faced Classic.

Steelers keep sticking it in experts’ faces as they were not left pointless tonight either, beating newcomers Jymy 5-2 in Seinäjoki. Steelers’ dynamic duo were Jose Takala (3+1) and Markus Sipronen (1+3). There was no need for world champion goalie this time Eero Kosonen as he sat as reserve with youngster Pietari Jääskeläinen stopping 31 Jymy shots.

Last years’ quarter finals came to an abrupt end with Westend Indians having 2-1 against Oilers in Espoo rivalry but today Oilers set things straight with 6-1. There was no stopping Oilers’ first unit with Rasmus Kainulainen scoring 1+3, Markus Markkola 2+1 and Matias Veikkola and Justus Kainulainen a goal each.

In Friday’s fourth game, Nokian KrP beat Welhot 6-3 after being down 1-2 after the first period.
