Finnish champions with their back against the wall

In F-liiga semi-finals, Finnish champions Classic are on the verge of a catastrophy after two straight overtime losses against Nokian KrP. Classic are now down 2-3 and now need to win two times to make the final and be able to defend their title.

After three games, Classic had 2-1 against Nokian KrP but the challengers tied up the series with an overtime win at home. Last night, Classic blew a 3-0 lead in the final period to then be defeated 3-4 in the overtime by a goal by Mikko Laakso.

In the other pair, Oilers seemed to be sailing into finals after they had beaten TPS three times at the cost of merely one defeat. Last night, though, TPS were able to perform their best this far and reduce the series to 2-3 away in Espoo.

In both series, game 6 will be played tomorrow.
