Classic unbeaten in F-liiga final series – take 5th consecutive Finnish title

In the semi-finals, Finnish champions Classic were just one game away from being eliminated but in the final series against Oilers they were just unbeatable. Classic secured their 5th consecutive Finnish title in four straight games, beating Oilers 8-3 away tonight.

Just like in the previous game, Oilers came out strong taking the lead with 1-0 and in the second period with 2-1. But the latter half of the middle period was all Classic with the team in pink scoring no less than five times. At the end of the period, the difference between the teams showed in penalty shots as Sami Johansson delivered his clinically, making it 2-6 whereas Oilers’ Justus Kainulainen’s attempt a moment later bounced off the post.

In the final period, incredible Sami Johansson scored his second and thir goals of the afternoon, making it 31 goals and 45 points in this year’s play-offs of which both are new F-liiga records.
