After a long series of home victories, the away team was finally stronger as PSS beat SB-Pro 5-2 in the reigning champions’ home rink today. The result means PSS are just one win away from their first ever Finnish title and have a chance to take it on Tuesday at home in Porvoo.
Today, SB-Pro scored the first goal in the first period and a 2-2 equalizer in the second but just like yesterday, PSS was stronger with the final buzzer getting close. With just two and a half minutes to play, PSS’ Julia Turunen intercepted a sloppy pass in the middle zone sending Milja Saarikoski to score the winner. SB-Pro never got to push back as defender Anu Raatevaara fumbled the ball to Ella Sundström for PSS’ fourth goal and even that was not anough as Fanny Holmberg put yet another one into empty net for the final result.
